Partnerships Lead

Role

Develops and manages institutional, platform, venue, community, sponsor, or creative partnerships.

Description

A Partnerships Lead develops relationships with organizations that can help an immersive project reach audiences, resources, venues, platforms, funders, communities, or institutions. The role may involve museums, festivals, schools, cultural organizations, technology partners, local groups, brands, broadcasters, platforms, or research institutions.

In immersive media, partnerships often affect the actual form of presentation. A partner may shape where the work is shown, who can access it, what equipment is available, how it is framed, and how long it can continue.

Discipline-Specific Description

Within distribution and exhibition operations, the Partnerships Lead connects the project to external organizations that can extend its reach, credibility, resources, or context.

Scope Note

May include partner research, outreach, relationship management, proposal support, institutional communication, community alignment, venue relationships, platform relationships, sponsorship coordination, and partnership follow-up.

Boundary Note

Partnerships are different from marketing or publicity. The focus is on working relationships and mutual value, rather than audience messaging or press visibility alone.

Collaboration Note

Commonly works with producers, distribution producers, marketing leads, publicists, community managers, curators, fundraisers, legal advisors, and institutional partners.
