Discovery

Production Phase

Early exploration of context, audience, subject matter, references, and opportunity.

Description

Discovery is the earliest orientation phase of an immersive project. It gathers enough contextual, creative, technical, audience, and practical knowledge to understand what the project might become and what questions must be answered before committing to a form.

Scope Note

Includes references, stakeholder conversations, precedent review, audience assumptions, feasibility signals, site or platform questions, and early risks. Discovery should remain exploratory; it is not yet full design, production, or validation.
