Dependency Tracking

Technique

A planning technique for tracking which tasks, assets, approvals, or systems depend on other work being finished first.

Description

Dependency tracking helps the team see what is blocking progress. It shows which pieces of work must happen before other work can continue. In immersive projects, dependencies often involve builds, assets, hardware, venues, approvals, capture sessions, and testing windows.

Typical Use

Used during production scheduling, risk planning, budget planning, installation planning, platform packaging, and milestone review.

Scope Note

This technique may include dependency lists, blocker notes, task owners, approval dates, build requirements, delivery risks, and fallback options.
