Wardrobe Test

Technique

A capture technique for checking whether clothing, accessories, and worn materials work with the capture system and intended performance.

Description

A wardrobe test checks how clothing behaves before a capture session or live performance. It may reveal problems with tracking, lighting, transparency, reflections, noise, motion, comfort, or continuity. In volumetric and motion capture work, wardrobe choices can strongly affect data quality and cleanup time.

Typical Use

Used during volumetric capture planning, motion capture blocking, performance direction, photogrammetry capture, 360 video capture, and rehearsal.

Scope Note

This technique may include fabric tests, color checks, reflective material checks, movement tests, marker visibility, continuity notes, performer comfort, and cleanup risks.
