Reset Routine

Technique

An operations technique for repeating the same reset steps between participants, sessions, or public runs.

Description

A reset routine turns the reset plan into a practiced sequence. It helps staff return the space, devices, props, software, and support materials to a ready state. In public immersive work, a clear routine protects timing, hygiene, safety, and the next participant’s experience.

Typical Use

Used during exhibition operations planning, facilitation rehearsal, safety review, QA, installation planning, and daily public presentation.

Scope Note

This technique may include cleaning steps, headset and controller checks, prop placement, software restart, room check, issue logging, and staff handoff.
