Reset Plan

Technique

An operations technique for defining how an immersive experience is returned to a ready state between participants or sessions.

Description

A reset plan explains what must happen after each run so the next participant can begin safely and smoothly. It may include software reset, hardware reset, cleaning, prop placement, room check, file check, staff handoff, and issue reporting. In public settings, a strong reset plan protects both the participant experience and the staff workload.

Typical Use

Used during exhibition operations planning, installation planning, facilitation rehearsal, safety review, QA, and public presentation.

Scope Note

This technique may include reset steps, timing targets, staff roles, device checks, cleaning steps, prop placement, room checks, issue logs, and escalation notes.
