Render Test

Technique

A visual and technical test for checking whether a scene, asset, effect, or interface renders correctly under expected conditions.

Description

A render test checks how visual content appears in the system. It may reveal problems with materials, lighting, scale, transparency, color, resolution, shadows, or performance. In immersive work, render tests should be reviewed on the target display or headset whenever possible.

Typical Use

Used during look development, shader development, asset optimization, device profiling, QA passes, and platform packaging.

Scope Note

This technique may include headset review, lighting checks, material checks, resolution checks, transparency checks, visual comparison, performance notes, and screenshots.
