Photo Documentation

Technique

A documentation technique for photographing setup, process, materials, tests, or installation conditions.

Description

Photo documentation records what was made, how it was arranged, and what needs to be remembered. It helps the team repeat a setup, explain a problem, compare versions, or preserve evidence of a process. In immersive work, photos are useful for installations, props, cables, layouts, capture sessions, and venue conditions.

Typical Use

Used during installation planning, fabrication prototyping, field research, photogrammetry capture, exhibition operations, safety review, and handoff.

Scope Note

This technique may include setup photos, detail shots, cable photos, prop photos, room photos, issue photos, before-and-after comparisons, and labeled folders.
