Marker Check

Technique

A capture or tracking technique for confirming that markers are placed, visible, readable, and working as expected.

Description

A marker check helps prevent tracking or capture problems before a session or installation begins. Markers may support motion capture, camera calibration, spatial alignment, props, or mixed-reality anchors. The check confirms that the system can see and use them reliably.

Typical Use

Used during motion capture blocking, volumetric capture planning, photogrammetry capture, mixed-reality setup, calibration passes, and QA.

Scope Note

This technique may include marker placement, visibility checks, labeling, calibration review, occlusion checks, lighting checks, replacement markers, and take notes.
