Device Checklist

Technique

A setup technique for checking that each device is ready, charged, updated, configured, and safe to use.

Description

A device checklist helps staff prepare hardware before testing or public presentation. It reduces avoidable failures by making setup steps visible and repeatable. In headset-based work, this should include battery level, tracking, controllers, lenses, straps, cleaning, app version, storage, and network access.

Typical Use

Used during device profiling, QA passes, installation setup, exhibition operations, facilitation rehearsal, and daily public checks.

Scope Note

This technique may include headset checks, controller checks, charging status, app version, storage space, tracking review, Wi-Fi status, hygiene steps, and reset instructions.
