Thermal Test

Technique

A device profiling technique for checking whether hardware becomes too hot during use.

Description

A thermal test checks how a device behaves over time under realistic use. Heat can affect comfort, performance, battery life, tracking, reliability, and safety. In headset-based or installation work, thermal problems may appear only after repeated sessions or long public runs.

Typical Use

Used during device profiling, QA, platform packaging, exhibition operations planning, safety review, and final performance testing.

Scope Note

This technique may include long-run tests, device temperature checks, frame-rate notes, battery notes, comfort observations, cooldown timing, and support recommendations.
