Description

A posture study examines how participants sit, stand, lean, reach, turn, or hold controllers during an experience. In immersive work, posture can affect comfort, interaction success, fatigue, embodiment, and the meaning of the participant’s role.

Typical Use

Used during comfort testing, accessibility walkthroughs, onboarding design, interaction design, fabrication prototyping, and playtesting.

Scope Note

This technique may include seated tests, standing tests, reach checks, controller grip notes, fatigue signs, body-position sketches, and accessibility concerns.
