Mixer Snapshot

Technique

A sound implementation technique for saving and recalling a specific mix state during an immersive experience.

Description

A mixer snapshot stores settings for levels, effects, routing, or audio states so the system can switch between them during the experience. This is useful when the sound world needs to change by scene, participant action, location, or emotional beat. In immersive work, snapshots help keep complex audio behavior manageable and repeatable.

Typical Use

Used during sound implementation, spatial audio sketching, scene design, onboarding design, performance playback, and QA.

Scope Note

This technique may include volume levels, effect settings, routing changes, ambience states, voice levels, transition timing, and playback tests.
